অশোকষষ্ঠী ব্রত বাংলার হিন্দুসমাজের অংশ এবং একটি মেয়েলি ব্রত। এই ব্রত গ্রামীণ বাংলার বাঙালি হিন্দুঘরের সন্তানবতী মহিলারা সন্তান এবং পরিবারের মঙ্গলকামনায় পালন করে। এই ব্রতটি চৈত্র মাসের শুক্লাষষ্ঠী তিথিতে ষষ্ঠী দেবীর পূজা হিসাবে পালন করা হয়।

 ব্রতের নিয়ম

অশোকষষ্ঠী ব্রত পালনের প্রথম পর্যায়ে প্রয়োজনীয় উপকরণ হল ছয়টি অশোক ফুলের কুঁড়ি, মুগকলাই ও দই/কাঁঠালি। দ্বিতীয় পর্যায়ে ষষ্ঠী পূজার পর দই/কাঁঠালি কলার মধ্যে ফুলের কুঁড়িগুলি রেখে দাঁতে না লাগিয়ে গিলে খাওয়া হয়। এরপর মুগকলাই খেয়ে সারাদিনের উপবাস ভঙ্গ করতে হয়।
